High School is an exciting stage in a student’s journey. At Cayman Prep and High School, students are challenged academically, encouraged to pursue their interests and supported as they develop the independence, resilience and confidence needed for future success.
A Journey Through High School
Key Stage 3
The transition to High School introduces students to a broader curriculum taught by specialist teachers. Students are encouraged to become increasingly independent learners while developing strong foundations in organisation, resilience and personal responsibility.
Key Stage 4
As students begin their GCSE courses, they are given increased responsibility and choice in shaping their educational journey. Alongside the core curriculum, students select subjects that reflect their interests, strengths and future aspirations.
Sixth Form
Sixth Form students enjoy greater independence and responsibility as they prepare for university, careers and life beyond school. Supported by specialist teachers, dedicated tutors and experienced pastoral staff, students are encouraged to challenge themselves academically while developing the confidence, resilience and maturity needed for their next steps.
Student Leadership
Leadership opportunities are embedded throughout High School life.
Students are encouraged to contribute positively to the school community through roles such as:
- Student Council Representatives

- School Ambassadors
- Prefects
- Senior Student Leadership Team
- Head Boy and Head Girl
- Community Service Leaders
These opportunities help students develop confidence, initiative, teamwork and a strong sense of responsibility.
Student Voice
The Student Council plays an important role in school life and provides students with a meaningful opportunity to influence positive change.
Representatives from every tutor group work together to share ideas, propose improvements and help shape aspects of school life, from events and House competitions to charitable initiatives and student wellbeing.

Every student is a member of one of our three Houses:

- Redpath
- Young
The House system creates a strong sense of belonging across the school community. Throughout the year, students participate in a wide range of House competitions that celebrate academic achievement, creativity, sport, leadership and teamwork.
Vertical Learning
A hallmark of High School life at Cayman Prep &andHigh School is our Vertical Learning programme.
Vertical Learning gives students opportunities to explore interests, skills and ideas beyond the traditional curriculum. Students choose subjects based on their interests and learn alongside peers from different year groups, creating opportunities for collaboration, leadership and new friendships across the school community.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Some of the most memorable learning experiences take place outside the classroom.
Students benefit from a wide range of educational visits, guest speakers, workshops and enrichment opportunities that bring learning to life and provide real-world experiences. Opportunities may include local fieldwork, university visits, overseas travel and subject-specific experiences linked directly to students’ studies and interests.

Throughout their time at Cayman Prep & High School, students have opportunities to participate in a wide range of local, regional and international educational experiences that bring learning to life and help students develop greater independence, confidence and global awareness.

Sixth Form is a time of increasing independence, ambition and opportunity. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning while receiving exceptional academic, pastoral and university guidance throughout their final years of school.
University Guidance & Support
Students receive personalised support throughout the university application process, including:

University Destinations
Our students regularly receive offers from leading universities around the world.
Recent destinations and offers have included the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, Durham University, University of Warwick, University of Bath, University of Bristol, University of Exeter, University of York, University of Leeds and University of Birmingham, as well as universities across Canada and the United States. Students have also pursued pathways in medicine, law, business, engineering, psychology, the sciences and the humanities.

Leadership & Community
