Head of Safeguarding and Belonging
Ms. Sarah Uttley
Safeguarding: Prioritising Your Child’s Safety
At CPHS, the safety and welfare of our students are paramount and integral to the Cayman Prep and High School Advantage. In today’s complex world, safeguarding encompasses not only physical safety but also the emotional well-being, mental health, and online safety of our students. We are steadfast in our commitment to fostering an environment where every student feels secure, supported, and valued.
As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, I ensure that our colleagues are rigorously trained to identify and address any concerns, thereby protecting the welfare of every student in our care. Our comprehensive training equips colleagues with the skills to promptly recognize and respond to any issues, ensuring swift and effective intervention. We also maintain an open-door policy, encouraging students to speak with trusted adults if they are experiencing difficulties. Our collaboration with parents and guardians is essential, and we are dedicated to working closely with you to address any concerns in a timely and effective manner.
Belonging: Cultivating a Thriving School Community
Fostering a sense of belonging is essential for the holistic development of our students. When students feel they belong, they excel both academically and socially, becoming more confident, motivated, and resilient individuals. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive culture where diversity is respected, and every student understands that they are a valued member of our community.
We achieve this and offer a wide range of extracurricular activities and clubs that promote inclusivity and engagement. Additionally, we facilitate open discussions that encourage understanding and respect for diverse perspectives. Above all, we strive to create a school environment that is respectful and supportive, ensuring that each student feels recognised and valued.
