Canteen and School Assistants Supervisor (CSAS) Primary School                              (Job Ref# A123-24-25)

Reporting to Primary School Deputy Principal, the Canteen and School Assistants Supervisor is responsible for operating the canteen and supervising the team of School Assistants. The post-holder must demonstrate leadership, initiative, integrity, effort and commitment, whilst working with minimal supervision.

 

Duties for the position listed above will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of and manage the operations of the Primary School Canteen.
  • Supervise the School Assistants in their roles.
  • Monitor the inventory of canteen stock and re-order as necessary, liaising with the Primary School Deputy Principal and After School Care leader.
  • Monitor and assist with routine cleaning of kitchen and canteen, ensuring proper hygiene and that the areas are sanitary.
  • Co-ordinate and assist with the serving of school lunches by the lunch-provider.
  • Ensure that all student needs are catered for, liaising with the Primary School Deputy Principal and office team as necessary.
  • Communicate with school management and the lunch-provider
  • Chair regular meetings for the School Assistant team to develop and provide feedback.
  • Role model excellent break and lunchtime supervision of the children using school-led initiatives
  • Keep up to date with best practice and research in working with children at play.
  • Manage the School Assistant timetables and cover, liaising with the Primary School Deputy Principal
  • Oversight of and manage the playtime equipment and rotas equipment use.
  • Monitor the condition of the equipment and liaise with the Primary School Deputy Principal and Head of Pastoral as required to discuss.

Desirable competencies:

  • Knowledge of inventory and purchasing methods/procedures.
  • Ability to keep and maintain inventory and sales records.
  • Experience of working with food and food handling
  • Current Food handling certification
  • Experience working in a school environment, with children at play

 

 

Qualifications, experience, and skills required for the position listed above are:

  • A High School Diploma.
  • Preferably a minimum of two years’ experience working with children at within a Primary School environment.
  • Candidates must either possess or be willing to obtain the basic Food Hygiene Certificate from the Department of Environmental Health.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, especially MS Word and Excel, is an advantage.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and time-management skills.
  • Will be expected to fully adhere to and support the Christian ethos of the school.

 

Salary range for the position listed above is CI$ 27,500 – CI$ 34,500 per annum commensurate with experience based on the school’s salary scale.  Benefits include:
