How do Year levels and Grade levels compare?

What is a Key Stage?

Please note that the purpose of the table above is to give guidance on students' expected ages in each Year level in CPHS. It also attempts to explain the associated Key Stages and National Curriculum expected levels for children in each Year group.

Note that the qualifying age for the Year/Grade levels in the above table varies from country to country. In CPHS students' ages are calculated as on 1st Sep in that academic year. In other jurisdictions age is calculated as from other dates such as 1st October or 1st January. The "age" shown in the column above is therefore an approximation and should not be used to define equivalence between one country and another.

Children applying for places in Years 1 to 10 in CPHS are evaluated prior to an offer being made.
